OUR STORY
Our story – craft, materials and meaning
RUMI OF SWEDEN was born out of the desire to create something that was both beautiful and sustainable. We saw a gap in the market – where leather products often felt either too trendy or too traditional, without the balance between aesthetics, function and long-term sustainability that we ourselves lacked.
It started with a simple idea: to create leather bags and accessories that could be worn everyday, age with dignity and feel just as relevant year after year. We wanted to work with materials that tell a story and do so in a way that shows respect for both the environment and craftsmanship.

The philosophy behind the name
The name RUMI OF SWEDEN is inspired by the Persian poet Jalal al-Din Rumi, whose lyrics often deal with timelessness, soul and authenticity. We carry this spirit with us in our work – not to be poetic, but to remind us of the value of creating with meaning.
Our products are designed in Sweden and made from full-grain leather from LWG-certified tanneries. Everything is produced in carefully selected, small-scale workshops where every seam, edge and detail counts. We use semi-vegetable tanned leather – a more conscious alternative that combines environmental consideration with functionality.

What we stand for
Timeless design – inspired by Scandinavian minimalism and classic function.
Honesty in material selection – we only use full-grain leather with traceable tanning.
Long-termism over trends – our products should be wearable for many years.
A sense of personal expression – each product evolves with you.
